Dr. Viorel D. Popescu, the founder of Nature-in-Numbers Analytics, is a quantitative ecologist and conservation biologist with a vast geospatial and nature analytics science portfolio and a track record of producing scalable and actionable science for tackling complex conservation issues in multi-stakeholder settings.

Dr. Viorel Popescu (PhD Ecology, University of Maine, 2011) has started working in nature conservation in his native Romania as an environmental scientist and geographer, later transitioning into biodiversity conservation science. He has authored 70+ scientific papers and book chapters, a Conservation Biology textbook, and dozens of technical reports on topics ranging from renewable energy planning to climate change modeling, sustainability of wildlife use and biodiversity monitoring.
